Singapore this September to thrash out their concerns – toping the list is the
disputed Terminal Handling Change (THC). The Sri Lanka Shippers Association (SLSA) told Lanka Business Online that this year’s shippers convention will push for an international referendum on rolling back the THC.

The meeting is a forum for shippers in the region to exchange views and opinions confronting the problems on international trade and maritime transportation.

SLSA Chairman Noel Priyatilleke said little headway has been made with local officials in rolling back THC.

Locally, the Alliance Government has agreed to appoint a committee to investigate the costs included in the THC.
