February 22 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s sacked national heritage minister Anura Bandaranaike has been re-appointed to his former post Thursday, a spokesman from the presidential secretariat said. Bandaranaike was removed with former aviation minister Mangala Samaraweera and Sripathi Sooriyarachchi.

<(Vimasuma.com newsdesk). Bandaranaike took his oaths before President Mahinda Rajapakse at the auspicious time of 11.51 a.m, the spokesman said.

Bandaranaike, the son of two former Sri Lankan prime ministers and brother of former President Chandrika Kumaratunga was sacked after a fiery speech in parliament where he accused elements within the government of making threatening telephone calls to him.

He had also been unhappy at losing his tourist ministry portfolio, and declared that all he had to do was to look at ancient frescoes of the Sigiriya rock castle which depicts topless maidens.
