Sri Lanka gets new Treasuries dealer

Sept 16, 2011 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s central bank said it had appointed Wealth Trust Securities Limited as a primary dealer for government securities.

The firm’s chief execuitve is Dammika Ranawana who had two decades of experience in fixed income securties markets in Sri Lanka.

The firm is promoted by Sri Lanka based Finco Holdings Ltd, SAFE Investments and Sierra Holdings.

The primary dealer will start operations on September 21 to sell and deal in Treasury Bills and Bonds.

The firm is chaired by Anura Ekanayake a former head of Sri Lanka’s Chamber of Commerce head, Mangala Boyagoda, a senior former banker and fixed income specialist, Ruwan Cooray
Senaka Weerasooriya and Priyanjith Weersooriya.
